Medical startup Neuraloo has unveiled the ExcreScan™ — a sleek, Wi-Fi–enabled smart toilet capable of analyzing waste for over 100 disease markers while seamlessly syncing health risk data to your medical insurance provider.
“Early detection is critical,” said BioSentry CEO Travis Neel, “but actuarial accuracy is even more critical. That’s why we’ve prioritized real-time premium recalibration over traditional diagnostics or treatment recommendations.”
The ExcreScan™, designed with minimalist steel edges and a discreet LED that turns red when your coverage is about to get more expensive, offers a passive health tracking experience. Without any user input, the toilet quietly logs data on inflammation, microbiome changes, metabolic disorders, and signs of hereditary disease — and automatically transmits the information to partner insurers.
Users receive push notifications via the BioSentry app, including updates like “Elevated Creatinine Detected — +12% Kidney Risk Adjuster Applied” and “Possible Colon Polyp – Co-pay Now Tier 4.” Actual medical advice is not included, but premium tiers are adjusted instantly to reflect the updated risk profile.
Healthcare providers praised the device’s potential to streamline risk-based pricing. “This is what predictive medicine is all about,” said a spokesperson. “It allows us to act swiftly — not to help the patient, necessarily, but to adjust how much they owe.”
Despite privacy concerns, the manufacturer assured users that their most intimate data is protected by “a unique blockchain-powered trust protocol,” though the company declined to elaborate.
The ExcreScan™ retails for $4,399 or can be leased through a 24-month Premium Monitoring Plan, which includes free firmware updates and variable-interest rate financing.
